Noting Army flap, Marine Corps orders its spouses clubs to allow same-sex members

Marine Corps leaders have directed their legal teams to alert spouses clubs at all Marine bases to begin allowing same-sex spouses as members if those social groups want to continue operating on Marine installations, Marine officials confirmed to NBC News Wednesday evening.
In an all-hands memo to legal offices across the branch, the Marine commandant's Staff Judge Advocate warned against discrimination based on sexual orientation, and he specifically mentioned a controversial decision made last month by the officers' spouses club at the Army's Fort Bragg to deny access to the same-sex spouse of a female Army lieutenant.
NBC News reported Dec. 14 that Ashley Broadway, the newlywed wife of Lt. Col. Heather Mack, was blocked from joining the spouses club at Fort Bragg, N.C., sparking accusations from a national military spouses organization that Broadway was being blackballed only because she is a lesbian.
The Marine memo, issued Tuesday, described the Fort Bragg club’s stance as having “caused quite a stir” and added, “We do not want a story like this developing in our backyard,” confirmed Capt. Eric Flanagan, a Marine Corps spokesman.
“The order was pretty much using (the Fort Bragg events) as an example to clarify our policy,” Flanagan said. “We stated that the policy is to be non-discriminatory.
“We don’t control what (the spouses clubs) do. But they get support from the Marine Corps so that they can hold their meetings on base or at Department of Defense facilities. So, in order to do that, they do have to follow Marine Corp policies,” he added.

Just to see the Marine Corps, one of the institutions I’ve valued so incredibly highly my entire life, succumb and buckling under to such degeneracy, is so beyond the pale. The uniform has been renedered worthless. Defiled.
As for the Marine Judge Advocate, may he and Obama and the vile scum in the military leadership that opened this door, may they all burn in hell.

Clubs already have seen diminished revenues since the late 80s when the use of alcohol was totally “frowned upon.” And, it is no longer mandatory to belong to a club nor can it be mentioned in one’s annual evaluation. Nor can membership and activity by one’s spouse be mentioned either.
So, since it’s not essential, I say screw ‘em, and let it be one more institution that falls to “modern military ways.”
There are plenty of ways for wives to get together without the club, but what will be greatly impacted is the charity and good will that these groups do for active duty, retirees, injured vets, children, etc. Maybe those same-sex couples can pick up the task and complete it on their own. I don’t think that’s really their goal tho’ so expect this to be another nail in the coffin of our military’s strength. No, not with weapons or intel, but with the emotional support of a strong group of spouses who carry on when they’re deployed, do a lot of charity work, and welcome them back when they return. Guess we’ll just see same-sex couples smooching and hugging since that’s the main focus of this administration. And you’ll see fewer and fewer hetero couples cuz they just won’t wanna deal with this s#!^.
Either off base, informal or end of club. Period.

Very easy fix. As soon as a deviant want to join let them. All other members just quit right after that.
I have heard of a diaper club for members with children or expecting mothers. Mostly officers wives belong to these spouses clubs. No big loss if they go away.
Move to the closest off-base location/and have functions, etc. off base, problem solved. Pandora’s jar is opened, time to just face that fact and strategically maneuver around rather than accommodate the sickness.

I disagree. Problem is NOT solved. The Pentagon will just enact new and stricter measures that will force the Marine Corp to enbrace sodomy.
With all due respect to current and former Marines (and other military personnel) it is nearly time to abandon the military.
Either that or take a stand against the faggotry which - of course - will end your carreer.
You may be FORCED to let them in but don’t have to talk to them.
This will be interesting. I don’t think DOMA would ‘allow’ the recognition of a same sex ‘spouse’ on a military base. Shrug.
IMHO:
1. It was for rapidly expanding and nationalizing gay marriage.
2. Once gay marriage is established as "normal" & co-equal with heterosexual marriage, then ...
3. All public schools will be required to indoctrinate children from K thru 12 (through, for example, something like Virginia's Family Life Education program) that "gay is OK, it's normal, it's natural, they're born that way, try it you'll like it, etc., etc., etc.
4. Utter break down of morality and civilization in America further destroying any hope of maintaining a republic.
what red-blooded homosexual man or dyke woman wouldn’t want to spend the afternoon at the O’Club, eating salad and listening to the Colonel’s wives compare dates of rank, gossip, and bully JR Officers’ wives into planning dances and doing volunteer work for the Post aid societies?
